
Mountain Fever Records announces the release of acclaimed multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Bryan McDowell’s self-titled album. This project represents a significant milestone in McDowell’s career, highlighting his artistry and strong ties to the bluegrass tradition.
McDowell is a well-known presence in bluegrass, having performed with Claire Lynch and contributed as a writer and recording artist for artists such as Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull, and John McEuen. Raised in western North Carolina, he was influenced by his musical upbringing and mentorship from renowned fiddler Arvil Freeman. By his early twenties, McDowell had earned 21 first-place awards on fiddle, mandolin, and guitar at leading fiddlers’ conventions nationwide.
This album features ten tracks that showcase McDowell’s songwriting and interpretive skills. The collection includes original compositions, traditional favorites, and bluegrass standards, demonstrating his versatility across instruments and styles.
